The Atlanta based HBCU (historically black college university) made the announcement that they will consider for admission women that live and self identify as women regardless of their gender at birth, starting fall of 2018. The all women institution will keep applying it’s no male admission policy. The transgender movement has had many battles over restroom issues and the appropriateness and the legality of who should use what restroom.

Spelman College will be the second women’s HBCU to admit transgender students. Might we see this issue at Spelman? Will parents complain about the dorm arrangements, what will be the dorm arrangements like? Will this become a major issue? How accepting will students and faculty be of this new system?
